Le Chateau Royale de Collioure
Dear Michael,
I am good. Yesterday, I went to Collioure with my whole family to see the castle. The castle was called Chateau Royal. It is next to the Mediterranean Sea. The water was dark blue. It was splashing on the rocks.
The castle wall was made of rocks. I guessed the wall was 100 feet high. It went all the wall around the castle.
There were signs all around the castle with Roman numbers on them. Mom says, these numbers tell us when each part of the castle was built. The barracks were built in XVIIth C. That means they were built in the 17th century. (The X=10.
We are wondering what you are learning about in science and math? Here we are studying rocks, using the European money to buy things and doing some worksheets the teachers sent.

Good morning on Monday!
We are starting school 2 hours late because of the extreme wind chill factor. (Janet, even Clarke College is going 2 hours late!) We have snow in the forecast for tomorrow. The sun has been brilliant lately... we had grand sun dogs in the sky last week. They were outstanding!
Today in math we will be learning about the number of days in a month and in a year. We are on lesson 84. We were supposed to take a science test today, but we will probably have it tomorrow.
Megan got her wish granted yesterday from the Make a Wish Foundation. She is going to DisneyWorld next week with her family. (Did you hear that she can now rollerskate with NO HELP!?)
Better go check in with Mrs. Putz.... talk with you later.

Dear Johann and the Sauer Family~
How is everyone? It has been sooo cold here! This morning it was -18 with out the windchill!!! We got some snow the other day but it has been too cold to go out and play in it. Hopefully it will be nicer next week and we can go out and play because we get out early Wed., Thurs. and have no school on Friday or Monday. YAHOO!! I wanted to know so far in France what is your favorite food? Have you been to any musuems to see paintings and other art? The pictures of the castles are awesome! I hope you bring back lots of pictures to share with us at school. I can't wait for you to get home so that we can get together and play again. Miss you lots!!!
Your friends~
